The Mother in Ashes  & The Mother’s Exhale Diptych is a commentary on how all good things -- the earth included -- will burn unless we change how we lead and work together for a better world. The MORSE CODE message in The Mother in Ashes reads: “We are on fire. ‘The Cree word for leadership is not power, it’s caring’*.  We will all burn unless community, love, and compassion guide our actions. Let the mother come first.” Its companion painting, The Mother’s Exhale is a hopeful response to the first painting, because scientists, dreamers, artists, activists and many others are listening to the Mother’s voice, telling us what we need to do to save her, and ourselves. The MORSE CODE message in The Mother’s Exhale reads: “The  Mother’s Exhale. The dreamers are listening. Our hearts beating with yours. It will all end. Some day. Just as it began. But we are here with you. Exhaling. Thank you for being our Mother”
